Why accounting
How I found my path to the numbers
I didn't start out certain I'd do accounting. What drew me in was realizing that the numbers tell the real story of any business. Strip away the marketing and the noise, and the financial statements show you what's actually happening. That clarity is what hooked me.
At Western I chose the Accounting Specialization with a Minor in Economics because I wanted both the precision of accounting and the bigger-picture thinking economics teaches. Along the way I earned a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification and completed NASBA's Corporate Financial Statement Analysis program, building real, applicable skill rather than just a transcript.
The long-term goal is to become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). What makes me different is that I pair that financial rigour with a creative, marketing-driven side. I can read a balance sheet and design the brand that sits on top of it. That combination is exactly where I want to build my career.
